The Central Bureau of Investigation conducted multiple raids across Odisha in connection with online child sexual abuse cases. The CBI officials conducted raids at Bhadrak, Jajpur and Dhenkanal districts on Tuesday (November 16). As per reports, the CBI conducted searches on house of Manoranjan Das in Agarpada area of Bhadrak district.

Similarly, the officials also conducted raids at house of Anil Majhi at Masudpur in Jajpur district. The CBI sleuths also raided the house of another accused Surendra Nayak in Colonysahi area of Dhenkanal. However, while conducting raids in Dhenkanal, as many as eight officials of the CBI faced the wrath of the villagers.

The villagers reportedly rounded up the officials of the central agency and beat them up. Later, the officials were rescued by the town police station staff. The CBI on November 16 started a coordinated search operation at 76 locations in 14 States against 83 people allegedly involved in sexual abuse of children.

The Central agency registered 23 separate cases against these people for alleged involvement in sexual exploitation of children.
