Joining Legends Sobers and Shastri

With his record-breaking feat, Akash joined cricketing greats Sir Garfield Sobers and Ravi Shastri, who remain the only players before him to have hit six sixes in an over in first-class cricket. Sobers achieved it in 1968, while Shastri repeated the magic in 1985.

A New Star from the Northeast

Supported by stellar knocks from Arpit Bhatewara (204), Kishan Lyngdoh (119), and Rahul Dalal (144), Akash’s fearless innings not only lifted Meghalaya to a commanding total but also spotlighted a new power-hitter from India’s Northeast one whose record may stand for years to come.
