The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is reportedly set to host the final of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The venue, which last staged the 2023 ODI World Cup final between India and Australia, is once again expected to witness another global cricketing showdown.
Five Indian Venues Shortlisted
According to sources, the BCCI has shortlisted five Indian venues for the upcoming tournament, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai. Meanwhile, three stadiums in Sri Lanka are also expected to host matches. Cities like Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Indore, and Navi Mumbai have been ruled out as they recently hosted fixtures during the ICC Women’s World Cup.
India–Pakistan Clash Likely in Colombo
The India vs Pakistan fixture, one of cricket’s most anticipated rivalries, is likely to be played in Colombo. As per ICC discussions with BCCI, if Sri Lanka reaches the semifinals, the match will also be held in Colombo. In case Pakistan qualifies for the final, the game will not be played in India, adhering to the prior ICC agreement made during the Champions Trophy planning.

A Grand Stage Awaits
With the world’s largest cricket stadium likely to host the final, the 2026 T20 World Cup promises to be another grand celebration of cricket, uniting fans from across continents under the floodlights of Ahmedabad.
