Serious allegations have surfaced against Forest department personnel in Odisha’s Angul district after a youth allegedly died following a brutal assault, triggering tension and unrest in the Pallahara area.

The deceased has been identified as Bipin Bihari Das, a resident of Sirigida village under Telkoi block. As per allegations, the incident occurred on the evening of January 29, when Bipin, along with a few other youths, was allegedly involved in an attempt to steal solar lights installed by the Forest department.

According to reports, Bipin and the other youths were intercepted by villagers, along with Forest department staff, and were subjected to a merciless assault. Bipin, who was reportedly physically challenged, was unable to escape from the spot and sustained grievous injuries during the attack. 
Family members managed to rescue him and rushed him to a medical facility for treatment, however his condition deteriorated rapidly due to the severity of the injuries.

Despite medical intervention, Bipin succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, further intensifying anger and grief among his family.
Following his death, tension escalated in the area as family members brought the body to the Pallahara Range Office and staged a protest. The agitating family demanded strict action against those allegedly involved.
