The Saintala police cracked the robbery case in the Runimahul area of Bolangir district and arrested two accused persons in connection with the case on Friday. The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by the victim, after which the police launched an investigation and successfully traced the culprits.
The arrested accused have been identified as Gopabandhu Kumbhar of Sargipali village under Saintala police station and Bhol Mahanan of Runimahul village. After their arrest, the accused were produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
Snatching Labourers' Wages
According to sources, a few days ago, Pradip Behera, a resident of the Kantabanji area, had arrived at Runimahul under Saintala police station jurisdiction to distribute pending wages to labourers engaged in work.

While he was paying the labourers, two miscreants approached him and forcibly snatched the cash. After committing the robbery, the accused fled from the spot, creating panic among the labourers and residents.
Timely Action
Following the incident, Pradip Behera lodged a formal complaint at Saintala police station. Taking the matter seriously, the police registered a case and began an investigation. Based on preliminary inquiry, local intelligence, and available evidence, the police identified and arrested two suspects involved in the crime.
Police officials stated that the timely action helped in solving the case quickly and assured that strict action would be taken against those involved in criminal activities. The arrests have brought relief to the local residents, who appreciated the prompt response of Saintala police.
