Three people killed after scooter rammed by unidentified vehicle in Dhenkanal

Three youths lost their lives late Thursday night in a tragic accident near Govindpur on National Highway 55 under the Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal district. The deceased have been identified as Mithun Patra from Dhenkanal, Surendra Behera from Angul and Jagannath Das from Cuttack.

According to reports, the three youths were reportedly riding a scooter from Dhenkanal towards Choudwar when they were allegedly hit by an unidentified vehicle. The collision led to their instantaneous deaths, leaving local authorities investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Post-Accident Measures

Passersby witnessed the accident and immediately rushed the injured to Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors pronounced all three dead upon arrival. Their bodies have been kept in the mortuary of the hospital. Police are probing the incident to identify the vehicle involved and are urging witnesses to come forward with information that could help in the investigation.
