Three-day-old infant boy stolen from hospital in Odisha!

As per the allegation by the family members, an unidentified woman took the newborn away under the pretext of administering a vaccine and did not return.

In a shocking incident, a three-day-old baby boy was allegedly stolen from the maternity ward of PRM Medical College in Baripada.

As per the allegation by the family members, an unidentified woman took the newborn away under the pretext of administering a vaccine and did not return. 

Following the complaint, Baripada Town Police Station has registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. CCTV footage is reportedly being checked to ascertain under what circumstances the baby was stolen.

Questions are now being raised about how the newborn was taken away despite the presence of security arrangements at the medical college. The police are probing to find out who took the baby and how the security was breached.

Earlier last year, a newborn boy had been stolen from the Rajsunakhala community health centre under Ranapur block in Nayagarh district.

As per reports, Bijay Kumar Parida of Godabhanga village had admitted her wife Sudhismita Parida to the hospital soon after she complained of labour pain.

Later, Sudhismita gave birth to a baby boy. But surprisingly, the newborn went missing soon after the delivery.
