Once abandoned and searching for her identity, today she has found a new family and a lifelong companion. Santoshini Nayak, who had been previously left alone on the streets of Mancheswar nearly a decade ago, tied the nuptial knot in a heart-warming ceremony, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life on Sunday.

According to sources, the wedding took place with full rituals and celebration at Jibanjyoti Ashram in Bhubaneswar, where Santoshini had grown up after being abandoned by her relatives. Khirod Pattnaik, a software engineer, held her hand and became her life partner, setting an example of responsibility and compassion.
Santoshini had lost her parents at the age of 12 years and was later deserted by her maternal relatives under the pretext of education. Since then, Jibanjyoti Ashram became her home and family. After completing her studies, she had worked at a hotel in Hyderabad before returning to Odisha to settle down.
The ashram authorities arranged the wedding with grandeur, ensuring she never felt like an orphan. From jewellery and clothes to a full wedding feast, every ritual was performed with love and dignity. Villagers, well-wishers and ashram members blessed the couple, wishing them a happy and united life ahead.
“I had never thought that I would marry in such a good household and get a good family. I would have been immensely happy had my natural parents been alive. However, now I have got parents (in-laws) who are very good,” newlywed Santoshini told OTV.
“I had a desire to marry this way, and we got married,” Khirod stated when contacted.
