Rs 2 lakh ransom demand: Odisha Police rescue abducted man, three accused arrested

In a major breakthrough, Odisha Police successfully solved a kidnapping case on Monday involving a man from the Biridi area of Jagatsinghpur district. The victim was abducted from the Nuabazar area of Cuttack on 26th December, with the kidnappers later demanding a ransom of Rs 2 lakh for his release.

Acting swiftly, Madhupatna Police traced the whereabouts of the abducted man and rescued him safely from Sonepur in Bolangir district. During the operation, three accused were arrested in connection with the crime.

Motive Behind the Crime

According to preliminary investigation, the kidnapping was allegedly carried out due to a monetary dispute arising from a promise of providing a job. Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain more details and establish the full sequence of events.
