Popular YouTuber and journalist Shubhankar Mishra on Tuesday issued a public apology after facing massive backlash for his controversial remarks regarding the Puri Jagannath Temple. As criticism and protests intensified across various platforms, Mishra ultimately deleted the disputed video and shared an apology on his YouTube channel.
Earlier, Shubhankar had claimed that couples in a romantic relationship visiting the Srimandir before marriage would not be able to get married. He had also stated that the temple was under 'Radharani’s curse.'

Backlash Forces a Public Apology
The controversy began when Mishra posted a video that many devotees and viewers considered disrespectful to the Puri Srimandir. Social media users, temple followers and several community groups strongly condemned his remarks, demanding immediate action and an unconditional apology.
As the opposition grew stronger, Mishra removed the video from his channel and addressed his audience directly. In the apology, he expressed regret, stating that his comments were unintentional and had hurt sentiments unknowingly.

He appealed to viewers to accept his apology and assured that he would be more cautious in the future while discussing sensitive topics.
Shubhankar is accused of spreading misinformation on social media about the Puri Srimandir and Lord Jagannath. His controversial remarks have triggered widespread criticism across Odisha.
