‘Private photos on pen drive’: New controversy erupts in Pitabas Panda murder case

The controversy surrounding BJP leader and advocate Pitabas Panda murder case on Thursday took a dramatic turn after serious allegations were levelled by advocate Deepak Pattnaik, counsel for accused Bikram Panda. The claims have added a fresh layer of mystery and raised questions about key evidence mentioned in the chargesheet.

Pattnaik has questioned the alleged disappearance of certain objectionable photographs of his client, Bikram Panda. According to him, a few objectionable pictures of Bikram were stored in a pen drive in Pitabas Panda’s house in Berhampur.

Pen Drive Containing Private Photos

After Pitabas’ death, a crucial key to a secret chamber was reportedly recovered from his sacred thread (paita) during the investigation. The chamber was later opened in the presence of Pitabas’ wife, Sushmita.

Inside the secret chamber, investigators had recovered the pen drive containing the objectionable pictures. Pattnaik alleged that the pen drive contained four photographs showing Bikram with a woman. One of the pictures reportedly depicted them lying on a bed holding hands, with a glass of alcohol placed nearby. 

Evidence Not Produced In Court

The lawyer questioned that while these details were included in the chargesheet, the evidence was not presented before the court.

"A secret key was found from Pitabas' paita after his death. The key was used to open a secret chamber inside his house by police in the presence of his wife. After opening the chamber, police had recovered a pen drive that contained a few objectionable pictures of my client with a woman. Even as this is mentioned in the chargesheet, they have not produced it before the court," alleged the lawyer.

The allegations have sparked fresh debate and deepened the intrigue surrounding the high-profile case. However, no official reaction has yet been received from Pitabas Panda’s family or the police authorities regarding these claims
