Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha on Saturday, Director General of Police (DGP) Y. B. Khurania on Friday conducted a thorough review of security arrangements at Amlipali in Jharsuguda, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend a youth convention.
During the inspection, the DGP held discussions with senior police and administrative officials and oversaw preparations at the venue to ensure smooth conduct of the high-profile programme.
PM Modi is expected to land at Jharsuguda airport at 11:10 am and reach the venue by 11:25 am. He will lay the foundation stones of several projects and address the youth convention, which is scheduled to last around one hour and fifteen minutes. The Prime Minister is expected to depart for Delhi around 12:45 pm.
Biswajit Sarangi, Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), said, “This will be PM Modi’s seventh visit to Odisha since the BJP government came to power. Thousands of youth are expected to participate, and the venue will resonate with ‘Modi, Modi’ chants. During his previous visit on September 22, 2018, PM Modi had laid the foundation stone for the Jharsuguda airport. Every time he visits Odisha, he brings developmental projects for the people. Tomorrow, he will lay foundation stones for railway projects worth Rs 1,770 crore.”
