OTV's Odisha Citizens Award 2025: Jury evaluates finalists, public voting next

The jury meeting for the prestigious ‘Odisha Citizens Award 2025 (OCA)’ was held on Thursday at the OTV Corporate Office in Patia, Bhubaneswar. The initiative aims to identify and honour individuals from Odisha who have made exceptional contributions to the State’s development and cultural pride.

The awards recognise achievers across nine categories — Agriculture, Education, Art and Culture, Social Service, Business, Health, Politics, Sports, and Entertainment. The jury panel reviewed detailed profiles and credentials of shortlisted nominees from each category.

In the first phase, three outstanding personalities from every category were selected for the final nominations. In the next phase, short video profiles of these nominees will be telecast on OTV news bulletins, followed by the commencement of online voting, allowing viewers to choose their favourites.

Winners of the coveted Odisha Citizens Awards 2025 will be decided based on the combined evaluation of the jury marks and public votes. Launched in 2012, OTV’s initiative continues to celebrate the excellence, dedication, and spirit of Odisha and its people.

“It is a very good initiative by the OTV and extraordinarily talented people of Odisha from different fields are being felicitated and honoured after thoroughly verifying their profiles by a panel of jury,” senior chartered accountant and jury member, AK Sabat, said.

“OTV identifying and awarding the established personalities working at the grassroots level and who have excelled in their own profession and who have made major contributions to the State is a nice initiative,” noted social activist and jury member, Dr. Jagadananda, stated.

“It is a nice initiative and a very big thing. It is an inspiration to motivate and rejuvenate different personalities. I feel happy and this initiative must continue,” eminent cine actor and jury member, Asrumochan Mohanty, expressed.
