Police suspect that a long-standing land dispute may have led to the horrific crime. Sources said the family had ongoing disputes over land with a close relative, and the murders are believed to be linked to that conflict.

Following the incident, Ghasipura police reached the spot and launched an investigation. Three suspects allegedly involved in the case have been detained for questioning. Forensic examination and further inquiry are underway to establish the exact sequence of events.

Police officials said strict action would be taken against those responsible once the probe is complete. The incident has left the village in shock, with locals demanding swift justice for the victims.

“On being informed, I and the local IIC reached Nialijharan village under Ghasipura police limits. This is a triple murder case, in which Jitendra Soren, along with his wife and their minor daughter, has been killed,” Anandapur SDPO, Kamal Lochan Panda, said.

“We suspect that the alleged killing is a fallout of a land dispute between the deceased man and his relatives. Preliminary investigation suggests that some of his relatives are involved in the incident. More information can be revealed as the probe progresses,” the senior cop added.
