The upgraded system aims to make contractor management more transparent, simple, and efficient. It will maintain comprehensive records related to contractors, including personal details, licenses, and performance history.

Besides Works, Water Resources, Housing & Urban Development, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj departments will also adopt this system.

Originally introduced in 2018 as part of the State’s e-governance drive to replace manual processes, the CDMS has now been upgraded with advanced features. The new version will integrate technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and data analytics.

This ‘one PAN–one license’ mechanism is expected to help reduce corruption and improve monitoring of work quality.

Alongside CDMS 3.0, the Works Department also launched the e-IB digital booking platform. The platform will simplify booking and allotment of inspection bungalows in Odisha under the department, allowing online room booking, cancellation, and access to booking information from anywhere.

The initiative is expected to benefit both the department and the general public.

“A total of 82 large projects were reviewed today, and the deadlines for their completion were fixed. Elaborate discussions were held on different problems faced in executing the projects to facilitate the progress,” the Works Minister expressed.

“We will focus on qualitative work and timely completion of the projects. Besides, we also launched two apps today. One is the Contractor Database Management System (CDMS) 3.0, and the other is the e-IB online booking platform,” Minister Harichandan stated.
