Naba Das murder case: Previous govt tried to stall probe, CB probing and truth will come out, says Law Minister

Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Friday responded to the statement made by Dipali Das, daughter of slain MLA and former Health Minister Naba Das, regarding her father’s murder, and assured that a thorough investigation is underway.

The Law Minister said he had watched Dipali’s remarks in the media and acknowledged the concerns expressed by the family. He stated that, based on the doubts raised, a Crime Branch investigation has already been initiated into the case.

Harichandan said the Crime Branch will conduct an exhaustive probe, examining all aspects of the case, including the circumstances of the murder, the possibility of a conspiracy, and the involvement of any other individuals. He further alleged that the previous government had attempted to stall the investigation, but the probe was resumed after members of Naba Das’s family met the Chief Minister.

Expressing confidence in the ongoing investigation, the Law Minister said the truth would come out soon, and justice would be delivered.

The remarks came a day after the third death anniversary ceremony of former Health Minister Naba Das was held at the Naba Das Auditorium in Beheramal, Jharsuguda. The event was attended by several senior BJD leaders and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari.

Meanwhile, Dipali's address at the memorial programme has sparked widespread discussion in political and public circles. Her remarks have once again brought the murder case into sharp focus, with renewed calls for transparency and justice.
