Minor girl brutally ‘raped and murdered’! Body dumped in bushes in Odisha!

A wave of shock swept through the NTPC police station area of Angul district after a minor girl’s body was recovered from a secluded patch of bushes on Friday morning. The discovery has sparked allegations of rape and murder, leading to a high-priority police investigation.

The Incident

The victim, a young girl from the local area, had reportedly gone missing on Thursday. When she failed to return home by evening, her family members launched an extensive search throughout the neighbourhood and nearby forested patches. Despite their efforts through the night, there was no trace of her until early this morning.

According to local sources, the search ended in tragedy when her lifeless body was found discarded under thick bushes, just a short distance from her residence.

Allegations and Police Action

The family of the deceased has officially filed a complaint, alleging that the girl was subjected to a brutal sexual assault before being murdered to conceal the crime. Based on the visible circumstances at the crime scene, the police have registered a case and sent the body for a post-mortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death and validate the rape allegations.

Acting on preliminary intelligence and local leads, the NTPC police have already detained three suspects for questioning.

“A girl was missing, and her father had lodged a missing persons’ complaint in this connection. We had registered a case based on the complaint, and this morning,  we were informed that her body had been recovered. On being informed, all the senior officers, including the Additional SP, SDPO along with the scientific team and dog squad rushed to the spot. We are making every effort to crack the case and take it to a logical conclusion,” Angul SP informed media persons.
