With class 10 board examinations around the corner, 24 students of classes IX and X from Udala Bardakhman Government High School in Mayurbhanj district approached the Sub-Collector in Udala on Thursday, requesting proper arrangements for the English class.
According to sources, the students expressed concern that irregular classes have affected their preparation and may impact their performance in the upcoming exams.
The students alleged that despite repeated requests, the school’s English teacher is not conducting classes regularly, leaving them anxious about completing the syllabus on time. Unable to get a response from the teacher, they decided to take their concerns to the administration.
Traveling by bus from the school to Udala, the students met the Sub-Collector in person and urged authorities to ensure consistent English lessons so that they can prepare effectively for board examinations. They emphasised that English is a crucial subject for their academic development and future prospects.
“The head teacher, who is also the in-charge, does not come to school regularly. The English classes are not conducted regularly, leaving us worried as the board exams are approaching,” alleged a class 10 student.
Echoing the same concern, another class 10 student said, “Our teacher has not taught us at all for the last three to four months. Despite requesting him several times, he did not respond. Now we are clueless about how to prepare for the board exam.
