A massive rally was organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Mahanga Assembly constituency of Cuttack district, on Saturday, stretching from Kulia under Nischintakoili block to Sukarpada.
As per reports, the mega roadshow was led by Kendrapara MP and BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda, along with Mahanga MLA Sarada Pradhan.
The program began at Nischintakoili, where the foundation stone was laid for the No.8 Canal Road project. Later, at Sukarpada, the leaders laid the foundation stone for the Sukarpada–Kurujanga No.9 Canal Road project.
As per sources, both projects, to be executed by the Rural Development Department, have been sanctioned with a budget exceeding Rs 15 crore.

"The foundation stone for the development of a main road linking two districts was laid in Mahanga under the Rural Development Department. One project is from Nischintakoili market along No.8 left canal to Panchupandab National Highway. The road will be widened up to 5.5m in width. It was 3.75 m earlier. As per the long-time demand for Mahanga and Derabish blocks, foundation stone for the development of roads from Sukarpada Square along Kurujanga, Bantala to Sabalkana was also laid," said Mahanga MLA Sarada Pradhan.
