The controversy surrounding the death of noted Odia singer Humane Sagar again escalated after his mother and wife reiterated earlier allegations during a condolence meeting in Titilagarh of Bolangir district on Sunday.

Speaking at the gathering, the singer’s mother, Shefali Suna, said the statements she had made immediately after her son’s passing were “entirely true,” adding that she had not filed an FIR so far and had not yet decided when she would do so.

Suna stated that the circumstances she had mentioned earlier were unchanged and insisted that her assertions were based on what she witnessed throughout her son’s final days. She maintained that she remained in a state of grief and was still processing the loss, which was why she had not approached the police with a formal complaint.

“Everything I have said is true. Everything that I have said in the media is true, and I will wait to see what happens next,” she said.

Wife Expresses Complete Agreement

At the same event, Humane Sagar’s wife, Shreya, expressed complete agreement with the mother’s statement and said the allegations raised previously were accurate.

According to her remarks at the tribute gathering, she supported every point mentioned by Suna and stated that all names and accusations made earlier were entirely true.

The remarks have again drawn attention to the two individuals identified in earlier discussions, managers referred to as Papu and Prashant, whose names have come up repeatedly since the singer’s death.

The two have not responded publicly to the renewed claims. Reports indicate that fans and human rights activists earlier approached multiple police stations, naming both managers in separate complaints.

Past Accusations

In earlier statements made soon after the singer’s demise, Suna had alleged that her son continued performing despite deteriorating health and that stage commitments were arranged when he was unwell.

Further, a video clip had surfaced which purportedly captured the deceased’s singer manager, Dinesh Behera, allegedly using abusive language and behaving inappropriately with Humane’s mother.

These latest remarks follow a tribute event earlier in the day where actor Anubhav Mohanty met the family and stated that he had written to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, seeking a detailed inquiry into the circumstances of the singer’s death.

As of the latest information, no response has been issued by the two managers named during the discussions.
