Elder brother killed in knife attack by younger sibling in Odisha

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly stabbed his elder brother to death at Rebidi village under R Udaygiri block in Gajapati district on Monday night.

According to reports, the two brothers had been engaged in a long-standing family dispute. An argument broke out between them, which soon escalated. In a fit of rage, the younger brother reportedly attacked the elder one with a knife, leading to his death on the spot.

Police have reportedly seized the body for a post-mortem and launched an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, the accused's younger brother is absconding.

Earlier in December this year, a man allegedly killed his own younger brother by stabbing him with a screwdriver at Bahadurbagichapada area under the Town police limits in Kalahandi district.

The victim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

After hearing about his brother’s death, the accused surrendered at the police station.

Familial relations in society have undergone a sea change with the passage of time due to multiple and unexplained reasons.
