A fresh controversy erupted after female anchor Liza allegedly made a contentious remark about Balasore Melody Association (a local music and singing artiste’s outfit) while speaking previously to the media amid ongoing debate surrounding singer Humane Sagar’s death.

The association filed an FIR against her on Sunday at Sahadevkhunta Police Station.
According to the association, Liza had made a controversial statement nearly four days ago before the media, which they considered defamatory and misleading. Citing this, the outfit approached the police seeking action.
“We got to see 3-4 days ago that a girl (Liza) had raised baseless allegations through a social media post against the people of Balasore, and without knowing anything about the history, art, and culture of the district,” a local singer, Bapu Panda, said to mediapersons.
“She has tarnished the image of Balasore district. Hence, we had politely asked her, as a sister of ours, through social media to apologise for her mistakes. Even 2-3 days have passed in the meantime, but she did not apologise,” Bapu Panda expressed.
Meanwhile, Humane Sagar’s former team member, Liza, has issued a public apology for her alleged comments. She has sought forgiveness from Balasore artistes through social media, clarifying in a video message that her statement was a "slip of the tongue".
“Whatever has happened, nothing happened intentionally. Everything was a coincidence. The matter has hurt you, and I would apologise to Bishnu Bhai (Bishnu Mohan Kabi) and all other artistes of Balasore district. I should not have done this,” Liza stated.
Worth mentioning, earlier a day ago, controversy over the death of Odia singer Humane Sagar intensified on Saturday after Liza, the former anchoring member of his crew, publicly claimed that she is under severe mental pressure and facing death threats for speaking about the circumstances leading to the singer’s sad demise.
