The Commissionerate Police carried out a demolition drive against illegal business establishments belonging to the main accused in the murder case of builder Sasmit Biswal alias Chinmay in Odisha's Bhubaneswar. Acting under court orders, the business unit owned by prime accused Tulu Mohanty was demolished on Saturday.
According to reports, Tulu Mohanty, the accused, had encroached upon government land and was running a ration shop along with a fast food outlet, portraying himself as a legitimate businessman. The action follows investigations into the planned murder that took place near Padhansahi under Airfield Police Station limits in April this year.
Multiple Arrests Made
As per reports, police have so far arrested six accused persons in connection with the case and produced them before court. Several others remain absconding, and efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend them. The Commissionerate Police stated that this action is intended to serve as a warning against those engaged in criminal activities and illegally occupying public land.
