A gang of criminals allegedly looted valuables after allegedly attacking and intimidating a farmhouse owner in Kankana village under the Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The miscreants were reportedly heavily armed when they stormed into the farmhouse premises forcibly. The incident took place on Saturday night at the farmhouse of a man identified as Narendra Kumar Sahu, a resident of Jamunakote village.
Farmhouse Assault and Looting
According to sources, several criminals entered Sahu’s farmhouse and threatened him with guns and deadly weapons, creating fear and coercing him to hand over valuables.
During the robbery, the intruders reportedly stole Rs 40,000 in cash, computers, and other electronic items present in the farmhouse. Sahu, who had been staying at the farmhouse for several days to oversee it, immediately informed the Kamakhyanagar police following the attack.
“Initially, I saw a car parked outside. After entering inside, I found that the robbers had snapped the CCTV camera wires, looted the computer, television and other valuables, including Rs 40,000 cash, which was kept for a medical emergency,” alleged Sahu.

Police Action & Seizures
On getting information, police officials reached the farmhouse and managed to apprehend some of the suspects at the scene and seized the firearms and other weapons used in the crime.
In addition, a car allegedly used by the criminals during the robbery was also recovered by police officials.
After the complaint was lodged, the Kamakhyanagar police launched a detailed investigation into the incident. Interrogation of the arrested suspects is underway to establish the sequence of events and identify any accomplices.
However, the police officials are yet to divulge more information regarding the incident.
