According to police sources, the accused broke into the residence of Sitaram Meher and looted the valuables from his house. When family members tried to resist, the miscreants allegedly assaulted them severely. The robbers also threatened to kill the family members if they revealed details of the incident to anyone.
Acting on Sitaram Meher’s formal complaint lodged at the local police station, a team of cops initiated a detailed probe. It is said that gold ornaments and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees have been looted in the midnight heist incident.
“All of a sudden, they (the dacoits) entered our house at night and overpowered my wife. I covered my elderly mother with a blanket. Later, they severely beat both of us (the couple). They even stabbed me in my ear. They beat us with lathi and looted the valuables, including gold and silver ornaments,” the victim man said.
“The dacoits also decamped with some cash, documents and household articles. After they left the house, we informed the police. The cops visited our house and told us that a scientific team will arrive here for further probe,” Sitaram Meher expressed to OTV.
