In yet another security lapse, a video showing the use of a mobile phone inside the Puri Srimandir has gone viral on social media. The footage reportedly captures a man holding a mobile phone and speaking for an extended period within the Anand Bazaar area of the temple, raising serious concerns over violations of established temple regulations.
According to reports, the video was recorded by another individual and later shared online. The visual quickly gained traction and drew sharp criticism over recurring security breaches within the temple premises.
The visuals further suggest that someone may have shot the video using a mobile phone from in front of the Singhadwar, the main entrance of the shrine, raising additional questions about enforcement of security protocols.
Notably, only authorised personnel are permitted to carry mobile phones inside the temple. Despite this restriction, the viral video indicates that the individual was freely using a mobile phone within the temple complex.
Earlier, the temple administration had issued a directive strictly prohibiting mobile phone usage inside the temple. However, the latest incident has once again raised concerns over adherence to the order.
So far, the identity of the person seen in the video and the individual he was speaking with remains unknown. No official response has yet been issued by either the police or the temple authorities.
