28 grams brown sugar worth Rs 3 lakh seized in Khordha, 2 arrested

In a fresh drug seizure in Khordha district, police have seized 28 grams of brown sugar worth around Rs 3 lakh near the Gurujang National Highway area under Adarsh Police Station on Saturday.

As many as two persons in connection with the case have been arrested. Police also seized one motorcycle and two mobile phones from the accused.

As per reports, a total of 28 grams of brown sugar was seized during the operation. The estimated market value of the seized brown sugar is around Rs 3 lakh. 

Further investigation is underway to ascertain how long the accused had been involved in the illegal trade and to identify the source from which the contraband was procured.

"We intercepted the accused during the raid and arrested two persons. A total of 28 grams of brown sugar was seized during the operation. A motorcycle and two mobile phones were also seized from their possession," said Khordha SDPO Nihar Ranjan Pradhan.

"The accused have been forwarded to the court today. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway," he added.
