127 Odisha NCC cadets gear up for Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi Photograph: (OTV)
As the nation prepares to celebrate its 77th Republic Day, final preparations are underway in the national capital, New Delhi. On this occasion, as many as 127 NCC cadets from Odisha will showcase their strength and discipline in the Republic Day events.
The contingent comprises 80 boys and 47 girls. Along with participating in the Republic Day celebrations, the cadets will also take part in the Prime Minister’s NCC Rally scheduled to be held on January 28 at Cariappa Ground in New Delhi.
These 127 cadets have been selected from nearly 64,000 NCC cadets across Odisha. Out of the selected team, 21 cadets will participate in the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path, including 12 boys and nine girls.
The Odisha NCC contingent is being led by Colonel Sunil Kumar.

"I have come here with the 2026 contingent of the Odisha Directorate. We have a total of 127 cadets in our contingent, including 80 boys and 47 girls. Many of our competitions have already been held, and we are now preparing for the Prime Minister’s Rally. Odisha has performed well in all the competitions so far, and all the cadets have participated in those competitions with a competitive spirit. They have tried their best to perform well in the competitions. As many as 21 cadets from Odisha will participate in the Kartavya Path parade, and six cadets will participate in the Central Guard of Honour with the all-India team. As many as 50 cadets from Odisha, including 16 girls and 34 boys, will participate in the Prime Minister’s Rally," said Colonel Sunil Kumar.
"I have come from Rourkela. Our cadets performed well in the flag area competition. I am participating in the PM Rally competition, the first phase of which has been completed. Two more phases of the competition will be held," said a cadet from Odisha.
"We are so excited to take part in the Kartavya Path parade," said another cadet from Odisha.
