Cuttack: In a bizarre incident, two persons including a woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves last night after they were locked in a room from outside by her family members in Kendupatna Khanda village in Salepur.
What's more shocking is that the other person happens to be their distant relative and their neighbour- Bhanja Kishore Patra.
As per sources, Bhanja had arrived at the house last night and decided to stay there overnight. However, late at night, the family members, after finding both of them inside her room, locked the door from outside and immediately called up police.
In a few moments when police arrived at the spot and opened the door, both the woman and her brother-in-law were found hanging from the ceiling fan of the room.
Her husband Khirodh Behera said, “I was sleeping in the verandah of our house. When I tried to get inside, it was locked. I called my wife but her phone was switched off. Somehow the door opened and I found Bhanja in the room hiding under the bed. I raised an alarm and locked the door from outside. Police came and recovered their bodies.”
"Both the bodies have been recovered and sent for post mortem. Further investigation is on," said a police official.

Meanwhile, Bhanja's mother Gita Patra has alleged that his son was killed by the woman’s family even after he pleaded for hours to open the door. ”The woman had called my son for some work. After sometime, her husband and other family members locked the door from outside. The first killed them and informed police,” she alleged.
I want my son back, the mother cried.
