Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the winter session of the Odisha Assembly scheduled to kick off on the 20th of this month, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro today stated that all proceedings in the House will be conducted for maximum 4 hours and 30 minutes.
"All proceedings the House will be held for 4.5 hours daily during the winter session amidst strict adherence of the COVID-19 guidelines. We are yet to decide on whether Question Hour will be conducted. The MLAs, Assembly staff and journalists who wish to join the session are advised to undergo Covid test," stated SN Patro.
"A training camp for e-Assembly will also be held from tomorrow. In the first phase, the Assembly staff would be imparted training in this regard," Patro added.
A notification issued by the Assembly secretariat mentions that the winter session will commence from November 20 and continue till December 31.
As per the calendar of sittings, the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for the year 2020-2021 will be presented in the Assembly on the first day. The session will have 40 working days, the notification said.
While the next four days of the session from November 21 to 24 have been earmarked for official business, the private member''s business (bills and resolutions) will be tabled on November 25.
The House will hold discussion on demand for grants of the first supplementary statement of expenditure for the year 2020-2021 between November 26 and 28.
The Appropriation Bill on the first supplementary statement on expenditure will be presented on November 29.
