Jagatsinghpur: A day after being nominated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for Tirtol by-election, Rajkishore Behera filed his nomination papers at the office of the additional collector on Monday.
Jagatsinghpur district BJP President, Satyabrat Mohapatra accompanied Behera during the nomination filing.
With the COVID19 restrictions in place, the whole affair was concluded in a rather sedate manner.
Speaking about his election campaign, Behera said, “There are a lot of issues that the voters of the constituency are grappling with. BJD’s lies and false promises are some of them.”
“I am quite sure that the voters of Tirtol will reject BJD and make us victorious,” added Behera.
Accusing BJD of neglecting the constituents and depriving them of basic amenities like water supply and road connectivity, Mohapatra said, “People here already know BJD's incompetence. It will definitely reflect in this by-election."
