Rayagada: Four accused, including the complainant himself, were arrested by Rayagada police on Friday in connection with Rs 24 lakh loot reported on August 10, 2020.
As per reports, an FIR was registered in Rayagada Police Station on August 10 regarding robbery of Rs 24 Lakh from an employee of a private finance company.
However, the police investigation in this connection revealed that the private finance company official, who filed the complaint, was the mastermind behind this loot.
Sources said police suspicion rose as the loot was reported from a busy street and that too in broad daylight. So they directed their focus of investigation towards Anil Garadia, the complainant and he reportedly confessed after interrogation. All of the missing cash was recovered from the accused.
Following Anil’s confession, the police arrested three of his associates who allegedly aided the crime.
Rayagada SP, Sharvana Vivek M said, “As per the FIR registered in Rayagada Police Station, we had formed a team including the SDPO, IIC and the Additional SP who worked in a professional manner and recovered the money.”
