Bhubaneswar: Tightening noose over the absence of teachers and non-teaching staff at various high schools across the State, the School and Mass Education department on Wednesday said remedial action will be taken against those who derelict their duties and remain absent at the headquarters.
In a letter, the director of secondary education has urged all district education officers of the state to ensure availability of teachers and non-teaching staff in their respective headquarters.
Moreover, the education officers have been asked to prepare a report on the staff who are yet to present for a single day by September end, and a list of teachers who have not imparted a single lesson through online classes.
“When government is paying full salary and restrictions imposed earlier during lockdown have been relaxed during different phases of unlock, absence of teachers from headquarters on the plea that schools are closed and students are not coming to schools, is not acceptable. Moreover, the services of teachers are also required in the areas of COVID management,” the letter read.
Necessary show cause notice will be served and remedial action will be initiated against those who found dereliction of duties, the letter stated.
