Balasore: A woman was caught by locals for allegedly distributing money to voters in ward number-1 of Balasore Sadar Assembly constituency during polling, here on Tuesday morning.
The woman is stated to be a resident of Mayurbhanj.
According to sources, locals gheraoed the woman when she, along with some of her associates, were allegedly found distributing money to the voters during the polls.
She was later handed over to the police, sources informed.
Notably, voting is underway for the by-polls in Balsore Sadar and Tirtol Assembly constituencies amid Covid shadow.
Brisk voting was witnessed in several parts of Balasore Sadar and Tirtol Assembly constituencies in the morning hours.

Balasore Sadar assembly constituency registered 12.11 per cent polling, while in Tirtol 7.58 per cent voting was recorded till 9 am.
State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar Lohani informed that an average of 9.81 % voting has been reported at both the seats.
