Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha including twin city- Cuttack and Bhubaneswar continued to witness incessant showers due to the Low-Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast, said the Regional Meteorological Centre here.
The met office has also predicted heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Bolangir, Dhenkanal, Angul, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Balasore, and Bhadrak on October 5.
Similarly, yellow warning has been issued for Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Angul, and Keonjhar on October 6.
Heavy rainfall alert has also been issued for Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts on October 7.
The Met Centre has also advised the fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast, adjoining Northwest and West-central Bay of Bengal today.
Meanwhile, the Cyclone Warning Division of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said another fresh low-pressure area is very likely to form over the north Andaman Sea on October 9 and move towards Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast after its intensification into a depression.
Under the influence of the fresh low-pressure area, rainfall activity is very likely to increase over Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh during October 11-13.
"We are monitoring its (low-pressure area development," IMD Director General Mrutunjay Mohapatra said.
