Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 2 lakh from a motorcycle dickey near Canara Bank at Uditnagar in the Steel City on Monday.
According to sources, Paramjeet Singh, a staffer at the Beldihi petrol pump had gone to deposit the cash in State Bank of India (SBI) Uditnagar branch. However, since the bank was crowded, he went to the Canara Bank’s branch in the same locality for an RTGS, keeping the cash in the dickey.
While he was at the bank, miscreants allegedly broke open the dickey and decamped with the cash. The incident took place around 1 pm.
Meanwhile, DSP Asim Panda said that Uditnagar police are examining the CCTV footage and have began a probe into the matter.
