Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the smart city of Bhubaneswar neared the 30,000 mark after 189 new cases of coronavirus infections were reported in the last 24 hours. It is for the first time that the daily caseload was below 200-mark this month.

Of the 189 new cases, 47 are quarantine and 142 are local contact cases, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday.

With this, the COVID-19 tally in the city reached 28,299 today. While the active caseload now stands at 2511, as many as 25,619 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Bhubaneswar. The COVID-19 death toll in Bhubaneswar stands at 148.
