COVID- 19: No ‘Ravan Podi’ Celebrations In Panposh Subdivision

Rourkela: The Ravan Podi which marks the end of Durga Puja celebrations will not be organised this year in Panposh sub-division area in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

Panposh sub-collector has issued an official order in this regard on Thursday.

According to the official order, the decision regarding ban on Ravan Podi has been taken to restrict large congregations and gatherings in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The spread of COVID-19 cases have been steady in Panposh Division area and there is a need to take urgent preventive measures to contain the spread of the disease, the order stated.

The order further stated that the Durga Puja/Kali Puja and Laxmi Puja celebrations in the Panposh division area shall be observed as per the guidelines issued by the Odisha Government.
