Bhubaneswar: Just when it looked like the cold wave conditions have receded in the State, the IMD's Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted that parts of Odisha will experience cold weather again as night temperature is expected to fall in the next two days.
The night temperature in Odisha's interior districts may fall by 3 to 4 degree Celsius and by 2 to 3 degrees in coastal districts during the next two days, said HR Biswas, the director of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.
The weatherman said that except in a few stations, dry weather prevailed over most of the districts with shallow fog occurring at several places on Friday, adding that the night temperatures observed no large change over the districts.
As per reports, some places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Balasore witnessed light rainfall on Friday with cloudy skies in these districts throughout the day.
A few districts in North Odisha witnessed partly cloudy sky while dense fog was seen in Jharsuguda Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore.
Briefing on the weather forecast, Biswas said, "Foggy conditions are likely to intensify. Dense fog will be seen in some places of North coast Odisha along with Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Boudh, Angul, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal on January 31. Similarly, on the next day, coastal areas and Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput will experience dense foggy weather."
While there was no large change in minimum temperature, after 24 hours, there will be gradual fall in temperature by 3-4 degree Celsius over the districts of interior Odisha and by 2-3 degrees over the coastal districts, the MeT official informed on Friday.
As far as the scenario in Bhubaneswar is concerned, Biswas said fog and mist conditions will dominate in the morning followed by partly cloudy weather during rest of the day. The minimum temperature is likely to be around 16 degrees and there are chances of dense fog in some places of the capital city on January 31 and February 1.
