Two quintals of ganja seized, 2 held in Balasore

Balasore: The district police seized ganja weighing 2 quintals from a car at Seragada toll plaza in Balasore district late last night.

Two persons -including driver of the vehicle Muktikanta Nayak and his associate Rehman Khan have been arrested in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, Khantapada police intercepted an Innova car heading towards Balasore from Sunabeda in Koraput and recovered the huge cache of narcotics.

"The accused were travelling with the consignment of contraband for a client in Balasore. Close to 2 quintals of cannabis were seized when the officials intercepted the vehicle midway," informed B Jugal Kishore, Balasore SP.

"We have also arrested two persons. Further investigation is on," added the SP.
