Jajpur/Sundergarh/Puri: Five persons including a minor boy were killed in separate road mishaps in Jajpur, Sundergrh, and Puri districts today.
A minor boy was killed after a bus hit him while he was crossing road at Badapatuli on NH-215 under Korei police limits in Jajpur district. Irked, locals of Badapatuli and adjoining areas damaged the bus badly. The situation was only controlled when police arrived and pacified the agitators. The body was later sent for post mortem. The police seized the bus.
Similarly, three persons died on the spot while a car in which they were travelling was hit by a speeding truck on NH- 10 near Karamadihi under Sadar police limits in Sundergarh. Another sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Burla hospital. The identity of the victims has not been ascertained.

In a separate incident, a biker was killed and pillion rider injured after a truck collided head on with the bike at Jadipur on Brahmagiri-Delanga road in Puri district. Both are residents of Jadipur.
Tension erupted in the area following the incident when local people blocked the road and detained the truck. Later police pacified the mob.
