Berhampur: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma inaugurated a newly constructed cyber police station at Bada Bazar and a new office building of SDPO at Bhapur in the city today on the first day of his two-day tour to Ganjam district.
He also dedicated a new building of Baidyanathpur police station to public in presence of former minister and local MLA Pradeep Panigrahi, IG Ghanashyama Upadhyay (Southern) and DIG Asis Singh.
"The cyber police station will benefit the people of Ganjam and Koraput districts. Several police stations of Ganjam and Koraput are coming under its jurisdiction," Sharma said.
The DGP was given guard of honour at police guest house in the city on his arrival.
He is scheduled to inaugurate the new building of Marine police station in Sonepur and newly built reserve police building at Chhatrapur tomorrow before returning to Bhubaneswar.
It was his maiden tour to Ganjam district after he took over as the State police chief.
