The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the next few days.
The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in some districts of the state in the next 24 hours. The alert has been issued for three districts.
As per IMD, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are also likely to occur in different parts of the state till August 10, 2024.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Khordha, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Bargarh, Jharsuguda.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 07.08.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada,Koraput.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 08.08.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur.
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada.
