After witnessing sweltering heat wave conditions in mid-March, the people in different parts of Odisha are all set to experience a change in weather conditions in the first week of April.
The expected change in weather condition is owing to the forecast of rain-related activities triggered by thunderstorms, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph in some parts of the Odisha in the next 24 hours.
As per the forecast, several parts of Odisha will experience thunderstorm activities till April 5, 2025.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Boudh, Gajapati.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.04.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 03.04.2025)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Koraput.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.04.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 04.04.2025)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and hailstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.
