Normal monsoon expected across India, says IMD DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra

As per IMD, the southwest monsoon has advanced over some more parts of central Arabian Sea, some parts of Karnataka, entire Kerala, some more parts of Tamil Nadu, entire southeast Bay of Bengal, some more parts of southwest Bay of Bengal, most parts of Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, some parts of Westcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal.

Monsoon onset

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday announced that the most parts of the country will have good and well distributed rainfall activity during monsoon which is most likely to be normal with a quantitative forecast of 103 per cent of the Long Period Average (LPA).
