A low pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast around November 9, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.
As per the IMD, the low pressure area is very likely to move northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts with possible intensification during the subsequent 48 hours. Heavy rainfall spell likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala during the next three days, said IMD.

A fresh western disturbance very likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from today and adjoining plains from November 5, 2022. A cyclonic circulation lies over Kerala coast and neighbourhood and an east-west trough runs from this system to south Andaman Sea in lower tropospheric levels.
Another cyclonic circulation lies over south Andaman Sea and southeast Bay of Bengal in middle tropospheric levels. Under the influence of the above systems, widespread/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, and Kerala and Mahe during November 4 to 6.
Scattered to fairly widespread/moderate rainfall very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during November 5 to 8. Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on November 7, 2022, predicted IMD.
