The fresh low pressure over northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal has intensified into a well-marked low pressure, the India Meteorological Department informed on Wednesday.
The system presently lies over the western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood and the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels, the weather bureau informed in its latest bulletin.

The Regional Met Centre of the IMD in Bhubaneswar has issued Orange and Yellow warnings for several districts in Odisha. A forecast for light to moderate rain has been issued for most places over districts of north and south Odisha till September 30.

The weather department has issued Orange Warning for two districts-- Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj-- with prediction of heavy to very heavy rainfall. Similarly, Yellow Warning has been issued for the districts of Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.
As per the IMD forecast, there are chances of temporary water logging in low-lying areas and occasional reduction of visibility causing traffic congestion in urban areas. The weather bulletin also states the possibility of rise in water level in Subarnarekha river.
The inclement weather will continue for the subsequent 24 hours till October 1. The IMD has further issued Yellow Warning for three districts-- Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh-- with light to moderate rainfall very likely at many places in the State during the period.
