A trough runs from interior Odisha to Comorin area across central Chhattisgarh, interior Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.
The IMD today also issued a yellow warning for heat wave conditions in different parts of Odisha for the next 48 hours. Apart from this, a warning for hot and humid conditions has also been issued for several coastal districts of the state.
As per IMD, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2 to 3 degree C during the next two days and thereafter very likely to fall by 2 to 3 degree C over the districts of Odisha. There is also a forecast of light to moderate rain and thunderstorm activities in some parts of Odisha as well.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Angul, Dhenkanal. Hot and Humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.03.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2025)
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda,Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Angul. Hot and Humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.
Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.04.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 04.04.2025): Light rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri,Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi.
