IMD’s weather forecast for New Year on January 1

After experiencing bone-chilling cold conditions during low pressure-induced rains that hit several parts of Odisha in December, the people in several parts of Odisha are a bit apprehensive as to what the weather conditions would be on New Year.

Clearing the air, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday informed that dry weather conditions will prevail in Odisha districts on the occasion of New Year on January 1, 2025. However, several parts of the state will experience dense fog and light to moderate rainfall activities till December 30, 2024.

As per the IMD forecast, a yellow warning for dense fog has also been issued for several districts for the next 24 hours.

Weather Forecast For Odisha

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 28.12.2024)

Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Kalahandi, Kandhamal , Bolangir, Nabarangpur.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.12.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 29.12.2024): Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.12.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.12.2024): Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Kalahandi.
