Ahead of the possible formation of a low pressure over parts of the State, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has made forecast of heavy rainfall in nine districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
The rain alert has been sounded for Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.
As per IMD, a low pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood around July 23, 2021.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri and Sundargarh.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Boudh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Bargarh and Kalahandi. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Kendrapara Jagatsinghpur.
